Game Boy Advance or Game Boy micro Wireless Adapter - Frequently
Asked Questions
- Is the Game Boy micro compatible with the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter?
The Game Boy micro requires the use of its own unique adapter, known as the Game Boy micro Wireless Adapter. Once connected, the Game Boy micro Wireless Adapter
is compatible with Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Advance SP systems that are using Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapters and compatible
games. For information on where to buy the Game Boy micro Wireless Adapter, please click here.
- Does the Wireless
Adapter make the Game Boy use batteries faster?
Only slightly. The wireless adapter only draws power when it's transmitting.
This is not expected to significantly impact battery life.
- What is the maximum range?
While the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter may work at distances
even further, we recommend players stay within a 10-foot (3 meter)
area to each other.
- Can
I use it on an airplane?
Currently, the use of wireless devices of any kind (cell phones,
wi-fi, etc.) is prohibited by most airlines, in keeping with FAA
regulations. If you have questions concerning the use of the Wireless
Adapter on a particular flight, please discuss it with your airline.
(Of course, you can use the Game Boy Advance without
the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter on most flights, except during
take-off and landing.)
- Can
I keep uninvited players from joining my game?
This will be specific to each game, and would have to be programmed
in by the game designers. At this time, we are not aware of any
games that would allow players to prohibit others from joining their
game. If another player has the game and attempts to connect at
the proper time, they would be able to join in.
