No sound through
headphones:
Check the volume control on the bottom of the system to make
sure it's not all the way to the left.
Remove the headphones from the headphone connector. If you
can hear sounds through the DS Lite's speakers, then the problem
is likely with the headphones, and they should be replaced.
If possible, try another set of headphones. The Nintendo DS
Lite uses a 3.5mm jack, which is standard. If it works with another
set of headphones, then the problem is with the headphones.
If the steps above did not solve the problem, your system will need
to be repaired. Click here for repair options.
Sound out of
only one speaker
Turn the system off, remove all games, turn the volume up
to at least halfway, then turn the system back on.
When the screen powers on, you should hear a tone from both
speakers. (If necessary, hold it up to you ear.)
If you can hear a tone from both, the speakers are fine.
Consult the manual for the game you are trying to play to see
if it has any sound options that can be adjusted.
If either of the speakers do not make a sound when the unit is
turned on, there is a problem with the Nintendo DS Lite. Click here for repair options.
