Nintendo DSi & Nintendo DSi XL - Settings - Mic Test
You can use this feature to verify that the system's built-in microphone is working properly.
How to test the microphone:
- On the Nintendo DSi Menu, use the stylus to select the Settings ("wrench") icon.
- Select the right arrow twice to go to page 3, then select "Mic Test."
- Speak into the microphone (the microphone is located on the center of the hinge).
- The volume bar will fill up with colored bands when it picks up sound.
- If the volume meter does not fill up, check whether anything is connected to the headset port. If noting is connected and test still does not work, then there is likely a problem with the microphone and the Nintendo DSi will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair information.
- If the volume meter responds, then the microphone is working properly.
