Important Note!

• Sending a Note via StreetPass will send it to all friends within wireless range of the Nintendo 3DS.
• Some tools and options may not be available until unlocked.
• Sending a Note via SpotPass requires an active Internet connection.

What to Do:

1. From the HOME Menu, select the Swapnote icon and tap "Open."
2. Tap "Write a Note."
3. Use the tools on the touch screen to create a note.
   • The pencil icon will draw. Tap it a second time to have it draw on the 3D plane.
   • The eraser icon will erase. Tap it a second time to have it erase on the 3D plane.
   • The up arrow will move to the next panel.
   • The down arrow will appear when there is a previous panel.
   • A menu icon between the eraser tool and up arrow will allow discarding without saving and additional options may be unlocked.

4. Tap "Save" to continue.
   • You can send the Swapnote via SpotPass or StreetPass.

   Or

   • Tap "Send Later" to return to the application's main menu.

• Additional features in Swapnote can be unlocked by sending and receiving notes to friends via StreetPass and SpotPass. Currently, these features include:
  • Drawing in 3D
  • Changing the stationary
  • Attaching sound recordings and photos
  • Restricting the viewing of a note using a date stamp
• A note from Nikki containing a tutorial will arrive each time a new feature is unlocked. Deleting the tutorial note will not remove the feature.
• Once unlocked, features are available by accessing the menu while writing a note. The menu icon is located in the lower right corner of the touch screen between the eraser option and the up arrow.
  • If you have not unlocked certain features, selecting the menu icon will only display the option to "Discard Without Saving."
  • Some features require Play Coins to unlock. Once unlocked, they are available for free. For information about how to collect Play Coins, click here.

Additional features may be added periodically by the developer.

What to do:

1. From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo 3DS Camera icon and tap "Open."

• If you have launched the camera using the "L" or "R" button, tap "Nintendo 3DS Camera" at the bottom of the screen to launch the software.

2. From the Nintendo 3DS Camera main menu, flip the lever on the bottom right of the touch screen to the up position.

• This icon will vary based on the last camera mode used. The default icon is a camera.

There are two ways to locate and download the Save Data Transfer Tool: Using the QR Code on this page or searching from the Nintendo eShop.

Using a QR Code:

1. From the Nintendo 3DS HOME Menu, hold the L or R Button to activate the Nintendo 3DS Camera.

• Depending on the game, extra data may be saved onto an SD Card (StreetPass data, SpotPass data, etc.). If you wish to retain this data, you must transfer save data to the same SD Card.
• Save data can only be transferred from the retail version of software to the downloadable version. You cannot transfer save data from the downloadable version of software to the retail version, and you cannot transfer save data between two copies of the retail version of software.
• Any save data already on the downloadable version of the software will be overwritten during the transfer process.

How To:

1. Ensure the SD Card inserted into your Nintendo 3DS has the downloadable version of the software installed.
