  • Due to firmware updates and newer versions of this router, information on this page may not be the most current. We recommend that you ensure your router has the most current firmware update installed. Check with the router manufacturer for the most current information.

  • If you need help locating the settings described on this page, or have questions on how to adjust them, refer to the router's manual, the router's manufacturer, or the internet service provider that installed your router.

  • Important Note: It has been our experience that 2Wire routers may require the following changes to enable a stable connection with the Wii console:

  • Some connection stability and speed issues can be resolved by going to the "Wireless" settings and changing the wireless channel to 1 or 11.
  • Turning the router's internal firewall OFF. To do this, log into the router's setup utility, and choose the "Firewall" option. Select "View Settings" or "View Details", and then select "Allow all applications."
  • While we have found that disabling the internal firewall can help with connecting the Wii console online, please note that Nintendo provides this information for our consumers' use. It is up to each consumer to determine what security needs they have for their own networks, and to decide how best to configure their network settings to meet those needs.
